Biography: 

Kim graduated Tufts with a BA in Child Study and Human Development ( concentrating coursework in Identity Development in Global Context) with honors magna cum laude, Class of 2024 and major coursework for a BFA in Studio Art at School of the Museum of Fine Arts (at Tufts) based in painting, figure drawing, ethical agreements for interviews, public participatory art which is activated in a space by viewers. Kim had an unexpected leave of absence in 2024.

Their artwork typically exemplifies themes of queerness, self-love, and relationships. These themes are derived from personal life moments and strive to convey moments of genuine understanding and community between artwork and viewers. Their work generates thoughtful discussions about the intricacies of how relationships may shift depending on the situational context (workplace, home, dedicated community spaces, etc.). Their career and education is based in political activism and advocacy with intersections of gender, race, culture, socioeconomics and sexuality. Serving through non-profits like AmeriCorps in Los Angeles and Massachusetts, Kim is an advocate, uplifting the voices of historically marginalized communities, previously managing cases in Special Education, programming, or planning projects by design.

Kim committed to Tufts University and earned their undergraduate degree as a first-generation, low-income student. 


Career & Experience:

Kim has lived in Southern Los Angeles, CA earning a credential the Marshall Teacher Residency Program (MTR) as an authorized Education Specialist as per the Commission on Teacher Credentialing exam and passed the teacher exam. MTR verified the required 600+ hours of clinical service in CA often drawing for their 1:1 students and classrooms to motivate them both intrinsically and extrinsically.​
